Fuel Surcharges
Due to the increase in oil prices during 2007, most cruise lines have implemented fuel surcharges for sailings embarking in 2008.
Those surcharges range from $3 to $12 per day per passenger and are generally capped at a maximum amount per sailing. In most
cases, the surcharges for 1st and 2nd passengers are higher than 3rd, 4th, 5th passengers.
These fuel surcharges are not bundled with the cabin fare and may be included with the taxes and government fees. Port charges are
separate.
In 2009 the cruise lines cancelled fuel surcharges but retain the right to reinstate them if the price of oil exceeds $70 per barrel on
the New York Mercantile Exchange.
When obtaining a quote from the Cruise Center it will include cabin fares, port charges, government fees & taxes, and any applicable
fuel surcharges. Unless specifically requested, NOT included in the quote are gratuities (generally $10-12 per passenger per day),
insurance, air fare, and ground transfers. Our cruise statements detail all costs that equal the total reservation amount.
If you have any questions about any costs associated with a cruise please do not hesitate to ask the cruise counselor to explain it to you
in detail. Also, remember that all quotes are subject to change based upon availability and until payment is made to secure the
reservation.
